The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is supported by the six cantons of Central Switzerland. With more than 10,000 students attending different programmes, and 308 projects in research and development, it is the largest educational institution in this region, in the heart of Switzerland. The university occupies several locations in Lucerne and Zug. The Faculty of Engineering and Architecture is located within few minutes train ride from the center of Lucerne. This building was completed in 2011, and Peikko provided the fastening plates for the construction.
